Local farmers and cheesemakers competed to showcase the best Guda cheese. Special prizes were awarded to the finest producers, celebrating the craftsmanship behind this beloved Tushetian specialty.
About the Festival

We invite you to the Tushetian Guda Cheese Festival at the Three Alazani Biosphere Reserve in the village of Kvemo Alvani, Akhmet Municipality. Join us in the beautiful surroundings of the Itabani agritourism farm.
The festival is organized by the Tusheti Development Fund and hosted by the agritourism “Itabani Wine & Cheese”.
The festival is funded by the German government within the framework of the Small Grants Program of the Three Alazani Biosphere Reserve.
The event is co-organized by Akhmeta Municipality City Hall and Tusheti Protected Landscape Administration.
The festival is supported by Georgian Farmers' Association, Georgian Agritourism Regional Association, and Shepherds Association of Georgia.
Farmer's Market
Discover a range of authentic Tushetian products, including the region's famous Guda cheeses made from sheep and cow milk, Chogi, Kalti, as well as locally produced wine, wool items, honey, tea, and more. These artisanal products will be showcased by local entrepreneurs, providing an authentic taste of Tusheti's rich agricultural heritage.
Tushetian Cuisine Master Classes
Watch renowned chefs and local culinary experts prepare iconic Tushetian dishes such as Kotori, Khavitsi, and Khinkali. These masterclasses offer a hands-on opportunity to learn traditional recipes while preserving the region's unique culinary traditions.
Food Corners
Sample a wide variety of freshly prepared local dishes from food corners scattered throughout the festival. Experience the taste of Tusheti's finest flavors, crafted with love and tradition.
Tushetian Folklore and Choreography Performances.
Enjoy live performances of traditional Tushetian music, songs, and dances. Folklore groups will revive age-old traditions, offering a mesmerizing cultural experience.
Revival of Traditional Tushetian Games.
Witness the revival of ancient Tushetian games, offering both spectators and participants a chance to reconnect with the playful spirit of the region's ancestors.
Film and Art Exhibition
Take a journey back in time with a special screening of films that capture the essence of Tushetian life. Featuring "Tushi Shepherd" and other footage, these films showcase the time-honored traditions, customs, and way of life that define this unique region.
